Internship Opportunities

Marketing and Communications Intern: The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts in Cape May, NJ has the perfect opportunity for students interested in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, journalism or the tourism industry. An internship with MAC in its Marketing and Communications Department offers valuable, hands-on, professional experience.

Duties include:

  • Maintaining and updating the media database which currently has more than 2200 press contacts from radio, television, magazine, newspapers and Internet. 
  • Assisting with the writing and distribution of press releases, media advisories, public service announcements and calendar listings 
  • Researching new publications in Bacons Media Directories 
  • Compiling specialized press kits for travel writers coming to Cape May 
  • Archiving stock photos 
  • Assisting with the development of the Marketing Partners Program with the Asst. Director of Marketing and Communications
  • Assisting with event coordination 

The intern will be able to choose some job responsibilities based on his or her interests. College credit will be granted when applicable. Interns must work a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Special Events Intern: The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts in Cape May, NJ has the perfect opportunity for students interested in event planning or the tourism industry. An internship with MAC in its Special Events Department offers valuable, hands-on, professional experience.

Duties include:

  • Assisting with the concert management of the Cape May Music Festival 
  • Assisting with the show management and fund raising of the Cape May Kids Playhouse 
  • Assisting with the planning and management of the two Cape May Kids Days 
  • Researching new participants for the Food and Wine Festival Marketplace 
  • Maintaining and updating the Crafts and Antiques Shows database which currently has more than 1700 contacts arrchiving craft and antique photos
  • Assisting the Marketing and Communications Department with various projects

The intern will be able to choose some job responsibilities based on his or her interests and must have a flexible schedule. College credit will be granted when applicable. Interns must work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
