Vintage Dance Weekend

Nothing says Victorian Cape May like the charm and spectacle of a Vintage Dance Weekend - dozens of dancers in elaborate costume swirling gracefully to the music of another era. You can be part of it!

An all-inclusive Vintage Dance Weekend package (3 Workshops, Ball & Tea Dance) for either weekend is just $95. Separate admission is also available:  3 Dance Workshops, $45; Vintage Ball, $35; and Tea Dance, $25.  Vintage costume is highly admired but not required.

Spring Festival 2013: April 27 & 28
Learn the basic steps at three daytime workshops on Saturday with instructors Al & Jan Seabra, who will also serve as preceptors for the ball. The classes begin will include instruction on a variety of 19th century dances. Registration begins at 9am; classes start at 9:30am and run till 3pm with a one hour break for lunch. The morning will be dedicated to learning Victorian dances for Saturday's Civil War-themed ball. During the afternoon session, Ragtime dances for Tea Dance will be taught. Then, on Saturday evening, put on your finest and show off your new steps at the Vintage Ball (8pm-11pm) with live music provided by Spare Parts! Jan & Al have patterned the ball card after a Civil War era dance. Refreshments will be served. On Sunday afternoon, Spare Parts returns with live music for an elegant Tea Dance (1pm-3pm). Refreshments are included. Every attempt will be made to balance gender. All events at the historic Chalfonte Hotel.
